1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Artzy (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Site.

2. Use of the Site

Artzy is a free, browser-based game designed to engage users in daily artist identification challenges. You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Interfere with the operation of the Site or its features.
  • Use bots, automation, or scraping tools to manipulate gameplay or stats.
  • Reproduce, copy, or redistribute any part of the Site without written permission.

3. Gameplay and Data Storage

Artzy uses your browser’s localStorage to enhance your experience. This data includes your guesses, streaks, win/loss history, and game progress. It is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You may reset this data at any time through the “Reset My Stats” feature.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on Artzy—including game logic, design, code, and written material—is the property of Artzy or its content providers and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Artzy features artworks for educational and commentary purposes. All reasonable efforts have been made to ensure that featured artworks are in the public domain in the United States, specifically works published prior to 1930. If you believe any content has been included in error, please contact us so we can review and address it.

Artist names, artwork titles, and other references remain the property of their respective rights holders where applicable.

5. Copyright Takedown Requests & Counter-Notices

Artzy respects the intellectual property rights of artists, estates, and rights holders. If you believe that your copyrighted work has been used on Artzy in a way that constitutes infringement, you may submit a takedown request.

Submitting a Takedown Request

Please include the following information:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
  • The URL or location of the material in question.
  • Date and time that the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed was displayed on the site.
  • Your full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We will promptly review all requests and, if appropriate, remove the content or restrict access.

Responding with a Counter-Notice

If you are the content provider and believe the material was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice including:

  • Identification of the removed content and its location prior to removal.
  • Your contact information (name, address, phone, email).
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the content was removed due to mistake or misidentification.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a U.S. federal court.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

We may forward your counter-notice to the original complainant. If they do not initiate legal action within 10–14 business days, we may restore the content.

6. Amazon Affiliate Disclosure

Artzy participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated websites.

Clicking affiliate links on Artzy may result in tracking by Amazon, and we may receive a small commission from qualifying purchases. We do not control how Amazon collects or uses data. For more information, see Amazon’s Privacy Notice.

7. Disclaimers

Artzy is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free functionality, or the accuracy of gameplay data or results.

We reserve the right to update or remove content, features, or game elements at any time without notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Artzy and its creators shall not be liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to gameplay interruptions, data loss, or reliance on game content.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
